This is an original USA version that was completed in February of 1992, the last year of limited F40 production.  The original order for this F40 was placed by Cornes Motors of San Diego, California, which was at the time our local authorized Ferrari Agent.  The order was placed on behalf of Mr. Richard Stanely of 1402 Tanglewood Road, Abilene, Texas 79605.  This Ferrari arrived on March 17th, 1992 and was sold on March 30th of that same year.  Delivery was taken by Stanley’s wife, Linda and the car kept at their local Southern California home initially before being shipped to their home in Abilene, Texas.  This Ferrari remained with them until June of 2002 when it was purchased by the second owner, Bruce L. Jamison of Houston, Texas.  Mr. Jamison kept the car until July 27th, 2003 when it was purchased by a Ferrari collector from Pahrump, Nevada.  The 3rd owner had previously enjoyed the use of an original European delivery F40 and was keen to acquire a good, sound, well maintained low-mileage example upon returning to the States.  After purchasing this F40, he was however very disappointed with the car’s performance and handling.  The emissions sapping equipment and lack-luster performance made him rethink his decision to purchase the vehicle but rather than go without, he opted to put the car through an extensive and comprehensive rebuild to “street-legal” F40 LM specifications.  The conversion work was started in 2004 and took seven years to complete at a cost of more than $300,000!

Today, this Ferrari F40 is sold complete with the original car cover and full books, tools, manuals etc… as delivered new.  This car has covered 11,293 total documented miles from new.  The private conversion to LM specifications included a full rebuild of the entire car from front to back, top to bottom including carbon fiber front and rear shells, doors, aero, upgraded engine internals and more.   It is completely accident free and has been carefully and meticulously maintained and preserved since new by the former owner.

This F40 now features deep radiator exhaust vents, low, centrally placed NACA duct and fixed, Lexan-covered headlights distinguish the front bonnet from the standard car’s, while other changes include a lacquered carbon front splitter and cabin-adjustable carbon plane rear wing. The paint is fresh and without chips, cracks or crazing anywhere!  Only test miles have been added since recent completion of all work.

The interior has been fully refurbished to a far better than new standard by a large margin.  Short black felt covering much of the normally exposed aluminum floor panels and the caulk-like, green adhesive haphazardly applied along their seams. Aggressively bolstered, Kevlar shelled Momo seats with Sabelt harnesses have been added, while sliding plastic windows and simple cloth pull straps continue the hardcore theme.

Originally developed on behalf of Maranello by Michelotto of Padova, Le Mans spec cars featured a stronger chassis, uprated suspension, brakes, gearbox, wider wheels and more. Less than 20 were made, and with power increased from about 480 in street trim to nearly 800 were capable of otherworldly performance.  The conversion to “LM” specs has been done in a manner to keep this one largely still street legal.  let’s face it, Ferrari knew what they were doing when they designed and built the F40, and the LM should have stood for Limited Monster, because that’s exactly what this car is now, an absolute monster!   This USA spec F40 started life as a sluggish, heavy, underpowered “supercar” as decreed by the US government. A real disappointment!!!! Nothing like the performance of a Euro spec F40, which is great if you enjoy just fitting in then this car is not for you……. However, if you want to stand out from the crowd, get to the front of the pack faster than anyone else, and do so in something that you would otherwise only see on a track, then this Ferrari just might be for you!

This F40 is significantly lighter than a regular US spec car, LM larger turbos have been installed and tuned to match the LM injection and ignition system.  Inside the motor features a full endurance LM set up of rods, pistons, crankshaft etc… and a Tubi competition exhaust system and brand new clutch as well as all new upgraded Brembo brakes have been fitted.  New upgraded suspension, new tires and new front and rear carbon fiber bonnets as well as new custom fabricated Lexan LM door windows, LM Split lip rear Carbon Fiber spoilers, Carbon fiber front splitter, and new carbon fiber doors all of which are finished in perfect matching, flawless fresh paint.

If you’re wondering if this beast has had any accidents thus prompting the modifications then put your mind at ease, this F40 has never been in an accident. it also has a clean Carfax.  All books, tools and original window sticker are included as well as all photos and documents of build and work performed. Only test miles have been put on this car since completion!
