Details

This particular Aston Martin was special ordered in July of 1976 by the Japanese Distributor for Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd., Chuba Yashima Auto Ltd., in Tokyo, Japan.  The order was processed and the vehicle completed on September 1st, 1976 and then shipped directly to Japan on the 17th of the same month.  On arrival in Japan, it was displayed for several months in a promotional tour at various shows and automotive venues.  It remained unsold for the remainder of 1976 and all of 1977 and late into 1978 until August 8th, 1978 when it was finally sold as a new car to the private museum collector Hajime Idoguchi.  It was finally road-registered on Kyoto Plates “33 SU 2387” for the first time later in August that same year, more than two-years after having been completed.  Over the next 35 years, this Aston was exercised regular and given preventative maintenance on a regular basis covering an average of 1,550 kilometers each year.  Two years ago, the collection was closed and the vehicles put up for sale.  A Japanese dealer purchased this Aston but did little with it other than services and up-keep maintenance prior to our purchase earlier this month.

This is a very rare, Japanese Market / Left-Hand-Drive V8 Saloon.  It has had just a single retail owner since new and is both rust and accident free as well as having matching numbers, front to back, top to bottom. This Aston is sold with the original and very rare Japanese sales brochure and the original owner’s manual / hand book.

This is a long link but a very well put together article on why these rare Astons won’t remain undervalued much longer:
